Blue Ocean Transfers (BOT) is a US flag shipping company who will deliver to the US offshore wind market Jones Act compliant crew transport and transfer services.
Blue Ocean Transfers (BOT) is a US flag Jones Act compliant shipping company who will deliver crew transfer services to the US offshore wind market through an innovative new business model patterned after ocean shipping pooling concepts. Our Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) are US-built, US-owned, and crewed by 3-5 US seafarers. BOT's vessel manager, SEACOR Marine, will be employed under a ship management contract to technically and operationally manage the CTVs on charter to clients.
BOT currently has two high speed aluminum catamaran CTV platform designs to support client transport requirements: a 27-meter and a 31-meter vessel, which can both be configured for 12- or 24-hour operations for 24-34 technicians. The vessels can accommodate evolving machinery and propulsion systems for emissions reduction such as hybridization, electrification and alternative fuels.
The BOT business model leverages the specific knowledge, experience and skills of different industry collaborators and brings together targeted expertise in capital deployment, financing, ship construction, vessel management and commercial employment. The business model is designed to ensure scalability to support a growing CTV market while providing competitive hire rates to charterers on safe, reliable and modern crew transfer vessels.
BOT will serve the offshore wind industry initially with a fleet of US Flag Jones Act compliant CTVs and additionally with other vessel types as required by developers and industry stakeholders through all project stages. The company is wholly-owned by McQuilling Partners, Inc. and is an individually crafted solution developed by the McQuilling Renewables Group.
