About

Anchor QEA is a nationally recognized environmental consultancy focused on coastal and nearshore planning, science, and engineering. Our expertise supports the nearshore aspects of offshore wind development and other complex marine environment work.

Anchor QEA’s multidisciplinary project teams work in collaboration with our clients to formulate and implement solutions to complex construction and development projects in marine environments.

We have extensive experience with planning and development strategies for port facilities in North America, including site investigation and liability assessments, environmental review, permitting strategies, geotechnical investigations and design, engineering services, decommissioning/demolition/disposal of obsolete structures, dredging design, contaminated sediment management, and construction management.

Anchor QEA’s in-depth understanding of technical, regulatory, and tenant issues associated with port development positions us to support rehabilitation of port facilities for the manufacture, assembly, storage, loading, and servicing of offshore wind facility components. Our areas of expertise also allow us to offer other critical support for the nearshore aspects of offshore wind development:

- Coastal and marine geotechnical engineering to support cable corridors/landings and substations
- Permitting complex, marine-environment projects involving multiple stakeholders and overlapping federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Wave and sediment fate and transport modeling
- Fisheries and coastal wetland resource area characterization and mitigation; coastal and flood resiliency (CFR) risk analysis and mitigation

In addition, Anchor QEA’s consultants have managed and provided technical support for hundreds of miles of pipeline and linear transmission projects throughout the United States. Our services have included structural analysis and design for waterfront/nearshore structures, geotechnical engineering for foundation, slope stability, and seismic analyses and design, and combining hydrodynamic modeling and coastal engineering for erosion protection analysis and design.
